温州博物馆的原址坐落于温州市鹿城区江心屿上。2003年，位于府西路的温州博物馆新馆落成。作为温州代表建筑的新馆在文化交流中起着重要作用。建筑面积4.2万平方米，斥资14亿人民币建设完成。该馆建筑设计灵感源自温州著名景点雁荡山的奇峰翠峦。
The original building of Wenzhou Museum was built in Jiang Xin Yu，Lucheng District of Wenzhou City.In the year of 2003，a new hall was completed，locates at Fuxi Road.Wenzhou Museum new hall is one of the symbolized constructions in Wenzhou，playing an important role in cultural communications.The construct acreage is 42，000m2，consumed totally 1.4billion yuan in construction.The architectural idea comes from a famous beauty spot of Wenzhou，the Yandang Mountain.

温州博物馆馆藏丰富，有石器、青铜器、陶瓷器、玉器、书画、金银杂项、革命文物、自然标本等25个种类1.7万余件藏品。在众多藏品中，有两件国家级文物和100余件一级珍品，部分藏品在国内国外学术界占有重要地位并具有重大影响。
Wenzhou Museum is rich in collection.It has treasured more than 17，000relics in 25categories，including stonewares，bronze wares，chinawares，jade articles，paintings，calligraphies，gold and silver decorations，revolutionary relics and natural specimens.Among these great treasures，there are 2state-grade relics and more than 100first grade ones.Some of these relics gain a great reputation and have greatly influenced domestic and international academe.
自温州博物馆对外开放以来，举办过多次文物标本陈列展览，此外也举办过多次临时性展览和主题展览。
Since its opening，Wenzhou Museum exhibits mainly its own collected relics and specimens；incidentally it also conducts temporary shows and theme exhibitions.
